A classic ferrata accessible from the Laguzoi cablecar

Still a lot of snow on Marmolada Marmolada Heading for the ferrata The path continues across the scree and then across the rocks just left of centre Walking in Some tottering towers Almost at the start of the route now. It starts up the snow on the top left Views from the route. Laguzoi cable car station and restaurant in the distance Mike climbing Still some snow patches to negotiate - this route was one of the last to open up after the winter snow. Heading upwards A steeper section. The climbing is easy but the altitude makes it hard work as much of the route is around 3000m Marmolada Mike coming up on of the steeper bits Au cheval seat at the top of the steepest section Summit views Marmolada Zoom in of the Marmolada ski runs Downclimbing from the top of the route. The anchors are quite spaced so care is needed as a slip could be very unpleasant. It's a long way down, the cabled descent ends a little way above the snow Mike about to descend the slippery chimney Some super polished footholds make this bit quick tricky At the end of the cable about to descend towards the cable car station. Still a lot of snow! Chossy path to begin with... but there's a lot of unavoidable snow below. The ice axes were essential today. Past most of the tricky bits now Other folks on the route - these guys had been repairing the cables and used their shovels to slide down the snow! Looking back up at the route More views of the route Tunnel Walking out Cinque Torre in the foreground with the mountain above Passo Giau behind. We wanted to do a climb here but the snow filled gullies wouldn't have been fun to descend. Falzarego Tower Marmot Marmot sunbathing
