Different coloured rocks in the mist Heading up from the top lift station - we walked up so we could do a circular walk Onto the cable now The route is mostly straightforward but the altitude means you want good weather Mike on a traverse It looks like a wee shove and it would topple over Mike and some spare cable - there seems to be quite a bit of re-equipping going on One of the steeper sections Forgot to unclip so now having to do so in a silly position Flowers, might be Rock Jasmine Heading into the mist... Mike More mist Not too far to go till the top It's a bit steeper here Some big drops in places The sun which annoying seems to have gone into hiding A brief glimpse of the surrounding hills In the murk Another climber in the distance. We had the route almost to ourselves as only a guide and client were behind Climbing up a steeper section Another traverse with a big drop! The descent with a lot of snow. The guides office advised axe/crampons for the descent which is why the route was so quiet The snow fields, we'll descend part of this Heading for the snow/descent. You can see the footprints from previous days ahead. Descent route. I opted for axe and crampons, Mike went for bumsliding and a damp backside. Plodding down John Wayne style Mike doesn't bother with crampons Cable car taking folks to the top of Tofana. Usually you can continue the ferrata to the top but it was still buried by the snow and thus you had to leave at Punta Anna. Sorapis Group The descent down VF Guiseppe Olivieri. One or two awkward bits but nothing too bad However, the late season snow made this bit somewhat exciting. I was very glad to have my ice axe you're crossing a slope that's about 45 degrees and the cable is buried underneath the snow Kicking steps and using axe/hand for balance Looking back up to the ascent route above.
