Possnecker - Mesules Ferrata
One of the oldest (tourist) ferratas made a bit more exciting by a downpour half way up

The Langkofel in the early morning sun Looking towards Sass Rigais The approach path, mostly on a good path but there's occassional scree sections to cross over The start of the ferrata. It was 100 years old in 2012 Mike on the ferrata Hmmm, the Langkofel seems to have some rather ominous looking clouds now. Less than one hour ago this was blue sky/sunny We're still dry for the moment... Some sections require long legs as the stemples are quite spaced out Occassionally the cable is a bit looser than you'd like and there's a lot more rock holds required than on most ferrata so some climbing skills are very useful Heading into the polished chimney. This section has no cable so some climbing skills are needed Mike emergined from the polished chimney Old rusty ladder which is thankfully quite stable Into another chminey section this time with stemples to aid progress Oh oh... the Langkofel dissappearing it looks like we're going to get damp! Waterproofs on.. we received a brief dousing and after 10 mins it all cleared again After the shower, the mountains re-emerge The ferrata is split into two sections with a reasonable walk between them. The second section tackles the cliffs on the right from near the top of the scree fan Langkofel looking good again A lump of rock Onto the second cabled section, waterproofs off now and the rock is pretty much dry Nothing too hard on the upper part The Langkofel from near the top Tottering rock formations I wonder how long these will be here? Mike for scale showing this tottering formation is actually quite large! Langkofel again A shrine en-route to the top Finishing the route with the arrows showing the possible routes down Piz Pordoi with Piz Boe on the left and Marmolada behind Cairns at the summit Follow the paint down Piz Boe Quick way down? Back in the mist The path seems to continue forever Piz Boe Lots of choice on where to go Piz Boe Heading down - we need to get round all the big cliffs before we can drop back to the valley we started at Some jammed blocks Piz Pordoi from the walk out We eventually end up back at Passo Sella walking under the main climbing areas. Via Trenker in the centre The locomotive not looking too train like in this shot
