First walk of the week 700m to almost 3000m, hard work but well worth it.

Hut en-route to the Ahornspitze Just after leaving the hut, still a long way to go Snow! Near the summit of the Ahornspitze View from the summit Made it this time, I collapsed in a heap about 20 mins from the top in 2004 Not the real summit but this is where everyone stops Standing on top of the true summit which is a few metres higher than the cross Early snow up high making bits of the path a bit spicy Our route down was along this ridge - rather cool and almost Skye like in places The descent ridge Snow making things a bit more exciting Looking back to the summit Looking back towards the summit The route down to the hut. From a distance it looks totally improbable but it's acutally fine. Mountains Be nice to the marmots This brute sneezed on us whilst we were having lunch - seems it found it rather amusing
