Mamores - January 2007
Pictures from 3 walks in the mamores (Weather too bad for the others!)

About to ascend Stob Ban. Breaking trail up the snowy ridge in the centre was pretty tiring. Stob Ban's heavily corniced summit (looking east). Stob Ban's summit (looking north west). Descending Stob Ban towards Mullach Nan Coirean (in cloud) Looking south to Mam na Gualainn and Beinn Na Caillich. West Highland Way runs through this glen. View from summit of Mullach Nan Coirean. Ring of Steall in the centre. Nevis and the Aonachs to the left. Looking into on of Mullach Nan Coirean's many corries. Descending Mullach Nan Coirean presents this view of Nevis, the Aonachs and Sgurr a' Mhaim. Herd of Deer Sun drops behing Mullach Nan Coirean Nice lighting on the Ben.(Carn Dearg to be precise). Two days later and the snows all gone! Attempt one of the Ring of Steall going anti-clockwise.
Taken from Sgurr a' Mhaim it shows Stob Ban and Mullach Nan Coirean. Carn Dearg and the ben from Sgurr a' Mhaim The famous Steall Waterfall or raging torrent as it was on this occasion.
Attempt two of the Ring of Steall this time going clockwise. Another day again and more snow loss.
Looking east from the summit of An Gearanach. From the summit of An Gearanach looking south. Pointy hill is An Garbanach with the more rounded Stob Coire a Chairn behind.
Wonderfull spot to have lunch as we got the views and shelter from the wind. Again from An Gearanach, this time its Binnein Mor and Na Gruagaichen. Summit of Am bodach (you have to take my word for this!). It seemed to be in the cloud the whole day. Yes, not the Mamores but a gap in the weather driving home through Glencoe.
