Clean Sweep - August 2012
A classic route in brilliant weather

Heading towards The Shelterstone and Loch Avon. We stopped around here for water and boy were the midges hungry. Clouds spilling over the Shelterstone Some snow left over from last winter Shelterstone Crag Looking down to the construction site for the path builders Beinn Mheadhoin and Loch Avon with the Shelterstone Crag to the right Approaching Clean Sweep, so far so good it doesn't look too damp Clean Sweep just to the left of centre. The route starts pretty at the toe of the slab. Fiona on pitch 1 before it gets a bit exciting Fiona trying to work out how to get onto the slab - it's quite tricky when you're only 5ft2 Mike on pitch 2 Fiona on the truly superb pitch 3 Further up pitch 3 Pitch 3 Beinn Mheadhoin and Loch Avon from part way up the route Fiona belaying Mike on pitch 4 Mike on pitch 4 Rescue chopper, thankfully it just appeared to be sightseeing today Chopper with the Shelterstone behind Mike on pitch 4 Chopper Fiona seconding pitch 4 Shelterstone, one of our pals is on The Needle. The crag has been in the shade all day so it must be pretty chilly. Clean Sweep is nice and toasty though. Climbers on Magic Crack. We stayed and watched them for a while. We had time to do another route but chilling in the sun was just too nice. Magic Crack again Mess of Pottage, various parties were climbing here. Heading home with Coire an t-Sneachda in the late afternoon sun
